A Note To Senator Mikulski on Being Presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom:
Congrats!
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is ‘presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.’ As a social worker, Baltimore City Council woman, Congresswoman and U.S. Senator, you have done all of the above while fighting for Marylanders. This is a well-deserved distinction for a friend and colleague who I know always has put her constituents first. You are inspirational to so many, your tenacity and dedication to improving the lives of every American is worthy of this great honor.
Congratulations Senator Barb, I look forward to seeing you on the floor of the Senate next week; shoulders square, lipstick on and ready to fight the good fight.
