Studio Review: Stil Studio, Dedham, MA
Wherever I travel I try and find time to visit a yoga studio. I love practising yoga in new and exciting surroundings, experiencing new teaching styles and meeting new yogis :) These reviews are not really reviews, I've no intention of being critical — but more documenting my new discoveries!
Stil Studio is tucked away through the door to the parking garage in Legacy Place, Dedham, Massachusetts. I was in the area thanks to an annual employee meeting for Wellesley Information Services.
The moment I knew me and my colleagues would be staying in Dedham, I googled yoga studios. I like to be prepared, find the nearest studio and carve out a little free time to practise some yoga. I like doing a little something to further my yoga learning with every trip I make.
I took 3 of my colleagues along with me for the donation only Meditation class. After a long and stressful day of meetings the mediation is just what we all needed. The staff at Stil were kind and welcoming as we explained we were out of town and had no idea what to expect. Staff we also patient as we fussed around — arranging lovely blankets, bolsters and pillows ready for meditation. The guided meditation by Maureen focused on love and acceptance of ourselves and others, which I found relaxing and lovely. I really liked that Stil Studio has a separate mediation room, and so many props to help us all settle in luxury for the mediation.
18:30–19:15 Mindful Bliss Flow
Next up was Mindful Bliss Flow — a heat-building vinyasa flow class held by Maureen and Tracey. The yoga space was lovely — calming and chic, and the class and teachers were wonderful — knowledgeable and supportive. I enjoyed the studio space and having two teachers on hand for adjustments and guidance.
As I left I told Maureen and Tracey that I hope to return sometime if I am ever back in Dedham, and I really hope I am some day.
