Cases registered against Gogoi, Majhi
GUWAHATI, March 10: In the wake of an FIR against Tarun Gogoi and Prithivi Majhi filed by the wife of Pranab Boro who committed self-immolation on February 24, the CJM Court (Kamrup) had on Monday asked the Dispur Police Station to register cases against them within 12 hours. The Dispur Police Station has registered cases against them (case no. 407/14 under Section 306/120B). Under the same section, a case has been registered against Akhil Gogoi. However, if probe is to happen against the Chief Minister, it must have the sanction of the Governor.
Meanwhile, the KMSS organized a press meet at its head office in Guwahati, with its publicity secretary Mukut Deka saying, ‘‘Since Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is also the State Home Minister, investigation against him will not be impartial. Therefore, he must resign as the State Home Minister. At the same time, the existing OC of the Dispur Police Station must also be shifted as he did not register the cases against the two ministers for a long time.’’
