DoNER to launch dedicated website for NE

New Delhi, June 4: Term it a first step towards revamping the Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Ministry, minister VK Singh has decided to create a website dedicated for the northeastern region.

“We are creating a website for the people of northeastern region. With the help of this website, people can tell their grievances and if necessary, they can meet me too,” said Singh while interacting with a delegation from the northeastern States.

The initiative is believed to have been taken following the fact that in the time of the previous government, in spite of taking several initiatives, many projects of the DoNER Ministry were kept pending. This website will work as a connecting bridge for the people of the land locked region.

Singh also emphasized on the setting up of a help group which can work as a 24×7 helpline. “We will have helpline in the line of western countries, which will help develop the region in all spheres,” Singh said.

The delegation, comprising Delhi’s BJP NE convener Manas Deka, also appraised Singh about the difficulties being faced by the people of the northeast living in different metro cities.

“The meeting was constructive. The minister has sought suggestions from us to solve the problems,” Deka said.
