High level security meets held at Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, February 6: The operation groups of the Unified Headquarter’s meet was held at Kokrajhar Circuit House today and all members of the group comprising the Army Officers of 3 and 4 Corps, senior functionaries of the State including Secretary of Home and Political, DGPs of Assam and Meghalaya, representatives of Arunachal Pradesh and senior officers of Central Armed Police Force, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and various agencies attended the meeting.

The meeting was held under the aegis of Tezpur base HQ of 4 Corps and was presided over by Lt. General AK Ahuja. The meeting discussed over the review of the overall security situation, recent acts of violence in the State by various militant groups and resolved to initiate strong measures against them to bring peace and harmony between various groups.

In an interview with media persons, Assam DGP Kagen Sharma said that the meeting discussed on strategic operations against the extremist groups like NDFB (S), KLO and ULFA who carried out a number of ghastly and inhuman acts by killing innocent people in Assam.

On the other hand, Lt. General AK Ahuja said that the security personnel never allow killing innocent people of India and they also don’t allow harassing the general people by extremist organizations. He said that the Army has been conducting operations to crack down the anti-Indian activities.

The meeting was attended by Assam DGP, Kagen Sharma, Meghalaya DGP PJP Hanaman, Arunachal IGP (I/C), AK Singha, Home commissioner, Gyandra Triparti, Intelligent Joint Director Pranab Nanda, IGP BTC LR Bishnoy, SPs, DCs of Kokrajhar and Chirang and other high levels security officials.
