Pranab Boro’s wife to file case against Gogoi government
GUWAHATI, February 24: Purnima Boro, the wife of the person who committed self–immolation outside the Assam Secretariat in a KMSS–led protest on Monday, has decided to file an FIR against the Tarun Gogoi government.
‘‘Whatever it might be, I shall be a filing an FIR against the Tarun Gogoi government. At any cost, I want land patta,’’ she told reporters at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
She said that when her husband came out of their residence in the morning to take part in the KMSS–planned protest, he had told her that he would set himself on fire before the Chief Minister!
‘‘The Tarun Gogoi government does not look after our welfare. If I die, I shall be dying for the sake of our people. After my death, if the Gogoi government does not give our people land pattas, you should file a case against the government,’’ Purnima quoted Pranab Boro as telling her before leaving their residence. Pranab Boro was a plumber.
