#TheAbyss on #TheGobOne — Our remarks

The less time is left before The Abyss’ Token Sale (DAICO), the more media attention the project gets. This is not bad at all. We appreciate being mentioned, but reserve the right to respond with remarks to incorrect statements and assumptions others make. The Abyss has been recently mentioned on TheGobOne. Source if you haven’t seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe8C89kNj4E&t=170s

Below are my remarks to this review.

1. “30% of the commission tokens are burned”

Slightly incorrect. We burn 1/3 (which is 33.33%) of the platform’s commission from the internal CPA Network and the auction transactions. Not the entire commission.

2. “Audit”

We’ll have minimum three of them done. Oceanico has made the first audit and reported this at — http://www.oceanico.io/component/content/article/80-news/80-the-world-s-first-daico-smart-contract-audited-by-oceanico?Itemid=437

The second from NewAlchemy will be delivered in the beginning of next week.

The third from Hosho is being done at this moment.

3. “Core functions of the platform for example purchasing games can still be done in FIAT ”

This is an advantage for a project in the video game industry, because if you accept only crypto you will loose 90% of online audience (that doesn’t use crypto at all) in the online games segment, which means death for any MMO project. And what about school students? How will they buy crypto if exchanges are officially available only for 18+ audience?

4. “Abyss token is basically an incentive layer — this hurts token demand”

This will not hurt token demand because of this: “Unlike fiat payments, when paying for game purchases with ABYSS tokens, users are granted a discount”. And the majority of key services rely on ABYSS tokens only.

5. “The roadmap is too looooong”

It’s not long. It’s detailed and fair. And it is normal when you create a complex product and not another crypto coin’s fork.

6. “No development of product at all”

Prototype will be ready this month. We hired two experienced engineers lately, specially for platform’s development purposes. You can see the news here: https://theabyss.link/2CNrDnt. The development of the platform is ongoing already.

7. “Steam as a competitor.”

And who else should we compete? Surely we’re aimed at competing with giants. The author does not specify why is it a problem exactly? Steam does not have exclusives with game developers and publishers. Healthy competition is always good for the industry.

8. Verdict

The review doesn’t look like a profound in-depth analysis. We are surprised to see something like that. We’ve talked all the points pretty much already. All is needed, is a bit more attention to the news we release on Medium, and our social media accounts on Twitter, Telegram, etc.
