Thank you. I totally agree with you: misgendering does hurt, and I never would have considered it if the author hadn’t been doing it so loudly, proudly, and consistently over numerous articles.

I wasn’t doing it to be cathartic. I was attempting to demonstrate to a trans-exclusionary cis person what it can look and feel like from the other end. If the act if misgendering is “far beyond the pale,” then I hope you’ve been taking every TERF you encounter to task for it, including our friend PolelifeandPussy, before trans women who do it satirically. I’ve never used this rhetorical tactic with someone who wasn’t determined to misgender us all aggressively and categorically. So if you can get them to stop, you’ll never hear it from me again. That is a promise and I wish you luck.
