Currently, the small and international team based in Palo Alto, is focused on delivering Birthday Box Movies, which turns personal and fun birthday videos into a collaborative birthday movie that is sent on the recipient’s local birthday time. As a result, the recipient feels connected to their friends and family. “People have unique schedules and don’t have a true way to reconnect. We bring them together by assembling their videos into one unique birthday movie. Our users are always the first to celebrate birthdays because we send birthday videos on the recipient’s local birthday time” said Sercan Lir, Birthday Box Co-Founder.
In September 2015, a large group of extended family and friends contributed a record number of videos (27) that Birthday Box assembled into a Birthday Box Movie for the recipient. The participants made their videos in various locations at different times, but all the videos had one purpose to be part of a special BBox movie for the recipient. “Birthday box is a great app that mixes social network and co-created videos. I have finally found an original way to wish happy birthday to the ones I love,” states one reviewer, Sara.
