Democratisation has other effects too. A widespread availability of digital cameras filled the world with a huge mass of low-quality photos. A widespread availability of software developers filled the app stores with a huge number of low-quality applications. Ability to post just about anything — created a lot of bad writing (like mine).

Ability to drive without being able to repair/make adjustments to your car made people dependent on “technological magic” and locked them into “approved service centers” (add DRM to it — and you’ll notice that you are no longer an owner of any complex device you own).
