Since you are going to write about the management practices I wanted to suggest you a book if you haven’t read it yet: “Managing Corporate Lifecycles” by Ichak Adizes. It is long and sometimes difficult to understand but I believe that many of the management practices you are talking about reflect the “Optimal path” he is briefly describing as an alternative to the “normal path”. And I think it might be of use to you.
