I would rather say that it does not necessarily convey a specific message.

Ralph, I am one of the worst enemies of all artists — a practical person. I measure art by two variables: how interesting it is to me and how useful it is. (In the sense of “This drawing is extremely useful, it covers the hole in the wall”)

At the same time, I understand that it might be a source of inspiration to someone else, which might result in conception of other useful things. :)

Interpreting it, though, is entirely beyond me.
