We are pretty much puppets. Of our own emotions. Conscious willpower has only so much influence over them. And they are triggered subconsciously
There is a way to deal with them, though: acceptance and mindfulness. I’m using both and in particular — focused acceptance, which helps me to eliminate triggers for miserable feelings one by one from my mind.
Thanks to that, I haven’t had a bad day for more than 9 months already :-P (without putting any effort into “focusing on positive”)
