Thanks for hitting me with a car and ‘injuring’ my brain

I was hit by a car and sent to the ICU for eight days due to the concussion and brain injury I endured (Brain injury — sub dural hematoma – https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subdural_hematoma / blood clot between the brain and skull).

The accident pushed me into a very different direction and I learned a lot from that.

Looking back and recognizing what I experienced, I realized I am truly grateful for what transpired after I got hit by a car.

  • I was given the opportunity to relax and see all the family and friends that took the time to visit me. Typically, I am always trying to spend time with Family/friends. This time they all came to me! https://goo.gl/photos/hNHrDPkvtbJPkRHJA
  • I was able to spend time with my parents at home. I thoroughly enjoyed eating my mother’s tasty/healthy food. My dad enforce a valuable lesson on limiting distractions (e.g. Focus on taking a walk and enjoying nature versus walking and talking on the phone). https://instagram.com/p/BIbtN34hImB/
  • I got to spend time taking walks and thinking about how I would like to spend my time going forward (my professional work/what I want to study/my physical health/my mental health. https://instagram.com/p/BIVAwhkDfbS/
  • My recovery process allowed me to understand what it takes to go from being on a wheelchair to playing competitive sports. https://instagram.com/p/BJIPXhdB4zJ/
