This is my first project in my immersive UX/UI design course sponsored by MISK-MCIT. In this project, I portray the essential steps towards a UX/UI design practice. So far, it has been an interesting journey, in which I got to work on it with two colleagues in our group number 10. Our project that was presented in front of the class is included below.

Research Phase:

Affinity Mapping:

Problem statement:

Our college students have a problem that they find it very challenging to manage their time and have an app that is designed with students in mind. Our solution should deliver a way for them to be more productive and connected with each other on a uniform platform.

Key insights:

  • End users tend to depend on coffee and energy drinks to provide them with energy;
  • College student priorities include attending class, part time work, meetings and social events;
  • Some end users rely on others for external motivation;
  • Study-social life balance is important to students;
  • Most end users highly dependent on calendars & time management apps to structure their day;
  • Some students follow a systematic lifestyle;
  • There is no one time management App that students use as a default.

Solution (An app with the following features):

  • Chat box between students (community based);
  • Specific for college students’ needs;
  • Feature optimal time to sleep based on schedule;
  • A user friendly App that allows the students in one go to schedule the whole day based on their academic schedule and for the whole semester taking into account the load of work per credit hour and balance for social life engagements.
