We all lead such busy lives. Whether you are a full-time mom or a full-time professional, there is nothing that would make our lives easier than to have some things accomplished for us throughout the day.

For many, one of the most time-consuming parts of the day is cooking. As much as we all wish we could hire a live-in chef, the majority of us don’t have the funds to make that dream a reality. However, there is an appliance sitting in our kitchen cabinets somewhere that may be almost as good as the real thing — your slow-cooker.

Before you leave for work or before your kids wake up in the morning, spend a little bit of time prepping your meal, then throw all of the ingredients into your crock-pot and let it do the cooking for you. And the best part? These meals are all inspired by healthy recipes found online!

Crockpot Thai Chicken

The best part about this recipe is that you can decide how you would like to eat this shredded chicken — by itself, in a lettuce wrap, or over brown rice. The green curry paste and lemongrass used in the recipe is what gives the chicken its flavor, but you can alter the dish to be as mild or spicy as you would like. Get the recipe from The Fitchen here.

Smoky Beanless Chili

This chili recipe is both paleo-friendly and gluten-free. The butternut squash and sweet potato make it a bit sweet, but the smoky flavor helps to balance that out. Get the recipe from Stupid Easy Paleo here.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Stay at home the next time you are craving Indian food. This tikka masala recipe that can be made in your slow-cooker is as good as getting take-out. Get the recipe from Cooking Classy here.

Beef & Sweet Potato Stew

Warm yourself up this winter with this hearty beef and sweet potato stew that is as easy to make as it is delicious. Get the recipe from Cafe Delites here.
