Denise Matthews, popularly known as “Vanity,” would have turned 65 years old yesterday, January 4, 2024. She was an iconic Canadian singer, model, and actress who became a sex symbol in the 1980s. Vanity was the fierce lead singer of the female group Vanity 6, formed by the legendary musician Prince, and gained immense fame with their hit song “Nasty Girl” in 1982. After the group disbanded in 1983, she pursued a successful solo career and continued captivating audiences with her incredible talent. In addition to her music, Vanity proved to be a remarkable actress, starring in several popular movies such as The Last Dragon (1985), 52 Pick-Up (1986), and Action Jackson.
