Get Your Hot Dog at Haute Doggery (Foodie Review)

The night air was an uncomfortable 97 degrees. However, that did not stop the overwhelmingly amount of tourists from walking through the Linq Promenade. A few people who had too many Coronas danced off beat to tunes played by local street musicians. While many other people such as myself, stood around wondering where the night would take them next. I had just finished bowling at the Brooklyn bowl with my husband and I was not ready to go home yet. That’s when my husband pointed at a lit red and yellow sign that read Haute Doggery. “Do you want to check that place out?” Hunger had not hit my stomach just yet but I was determined to get out of the heat.
As soon as I walked in I noticed the type of music that was bellowing through the place. Employees and customers alike all bobbed their heads to the funky sound of “Miss Jackson” by OutKast. As I road the rhythmic wave like everyone else and mumbled the chorus “I’m sorry Ms Jackson”, I started looking through the menu.

The menu offered a variety of different hot dogs with prices ranging from $4.99-$10.99. I, for some reason, decided to choose the o’l faithful polish dog. Even though my dog was a bit on the plain side I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The meat was so delicious and juicy that I practically inhaled it. Not bad for a $5.50 hot dog. After I finished guzzling my hot dog, I noticed that my husband was staring at the ceiling.

The entire ceiling was made of license plates from different states around the US. Now if you have few coronas swirling around in stomach I don’t recommend trying to take a picture of the ceiling. I almost fell out of my seat and I was very sober.
Overall, I enjoyed my brief stay at Haute Doggery and I recommend stopping by if you ever get the chance to. The music, food, and environment will not let you down. However, they could stand to turn the air conditioner down a few degrees by that’s not a deal breaker for me.
