If you hang around the barber shop long enough…

Cliche, right??? For a guy that hates barber shops, this is a pretty disturbing quote to use but let’s decipher it. 2019, marks the start of a sober year for some of my friends and I and well as the urge to sneak in a beer is very much alive, Valentine always reminds me of this saying.

Although it very much is used for alcoholics in recovery (not that I am one), we can use this same ideology differently to help us grow.

If you hang around the barber shop long enough, sooner or later, you are going to get a hair cut.

Many at times, we focus our energies to spelling out anything or anyone that negatively impacts our lives or takes our positive chi away and yet we falter in one way or the other.

What am I saying???

When you hang with negative minded people, your attitude is bound to change and give in to negativity, regardless of who you are. When you associate with depression and fatigue, sooner or later, it will become your cup to drink from. When you attract ‘lugambo,’ be ready to be talked about to. This comes to show us, in a way, that what comes around, goes around.

I am not the person for new year resolutions but today, I say unto you- cut off any negativity in your life, you don’t need it. If you feel depressed, fatigued, stressed, seek for help and don’t wait for it to fade away because most times, it just never does.

Remember, when you stay around the barber shop long enough…
