I used to take long walks late at night just to clear my head and think through whatever I happened to be working on. These days, I go for walks with Daisy, my Australian shepherd, once or twice a day but I tend to be focused on Daisy and don’t get a lot of great thinking done. I keep telling myself that I’d like to try to take more walks by myself, but when it comes time to actually get out walking, she looks at me like I’m betraying her. Still, I need to stop projecting my guilt on her and get out there on my own every now and then.
