I like it. You are part Dominicana? I have a friend from Dominica (don’t say Dominican Republic! he always yelled at people when we lived in the same city). He went to a Chinese Art school in Hangzhou for the 3 years my wife and I lived there for work; now he’s back in Dominica, where his paintings contain more lush scenes with tropical birds than some of the ones he did in Hangzhou. (We went to a couple of his shows, there.)
Peace out! I loved your story. It makes me think a lot. We used to live in L.A. until September 2014 we moved to East Coast for a job, and so I’ve taken tourists to the star walk near whatever the Chinese Theater is called now (Kodak, maybe) & the Hard Rock Cafe there, and…looked at the scary Scientology Building across the street, Sunset & Vine, etc. We went down there to “tourist” a dozen times while we lived there four years. We have a cousin that lives on the twisty, one car wide lanes going up toward the Hollywood sign.
My wife can identify with the baby groupies in your article. She was raised in L.A. K-12 ages, and if she could have gotten backstage at a David Bowie concert or other concerts she attended back then, she would have liked to have been a baby groupie. She ran wild on the streets back then, and if her dad told her not to have sex with rock stars, she would have had sex with rock stars, 100%. Good story, again, Briana. And if the ancient Jimmy Page had sex with that child in the photo, he certainly ought to be held to account.
As we have learned via Bill Cosby during the past two years, there is a statute of limitations on sexual assault. However, Congressman Dennis Hastert WAS sentenced yesterday to 15 months in prison for sexually assaulting boys when he was a high school coach for a sport…he was 74 so he may die in there in a year; prison is not good for your health, plus he is a registered sex offender and must attend treatment, and serve 3 years parole after release, and pay 250,000 to a fund for victims of sexual assault. But they got around the limitations by charging him with some other “money” crime; he was paying off a victim and when questioned, he told law enforcement he was being extorted, leading to all this investigation. But he publicly admitted everything and apologized.
PS I also wish every young woman watch The Hunting Ground, about the happy college years in America…where about 25% of girls at college are raped, from Harvard, Stanford and Berkeley, to anytown, USA. Number of rapists expelled will be like 3, and # of students expelled for honor code violation will be like 189, at a given school. There are plenty with the number 0, for expelling rapists. WATCH IT. There are one or two men who are victims in the documentary, too.
Thank you for your article! Have a good day today.
