I had my own “incident” on my very first date in junior high. I also tried to convince myself that it was nothing, but it gave me issues with kissing and intimacy for years.

I am appalled at the people defending the behavior, and giving you such a hard time for speaking out. Please know that what you said resonated with me, and I think that you are very courageous for writing this.
