Perhaps the most misguided post I think I have EVER read. Seriously, Holly? It’s not capitalism that’s the problem. It’s corruption. It happens everywhere. Historically, corruption has been much worse under socialist regimes.
Capitalism has been responsible for most of the progress and growth of our society. It’s why you have actually have a computer and an internet connection, so you can write this crap. In a capitalist society, we vote with our dollars. Don’t like what’s happening? STOP supporting it. STOP supporting companies that rape and pillage the earth. Don’t like big oil? Stop driving your car. Start supporting solar. Ride your bike. Walk, for god’s sake.
Are you really naive enough to believe that the housing crisis and food crisis will be solved with socialism? Who would fix this? The new corrupt socialist government? I’m so weary of people just pointing fingers, and blaming a concept like capitalism.
The real reason we’re so messed up is because we have too many whiners, who are unwilling to take responsibility for themselves and their own actions. Posts like your continue to polarize, and do nothing to move us forward as a society. They allow people to feel like they are on the good side of the ethical scale, thereby remaining indignant, and doing nothing to contribute any meaningful solutions.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
