Major UX folks are too away from making use of personas. We get requirements, mention whole users as end users and design interfaces and mockups for a single persona that is in mind. Its such a persona sickness which is the prime reason for not doing a good usable design.
Many organizations and even tiny startups shows interest in making quick design solutions other than focusing on persona before actually doing the design part. I strongly beleive that personas are present only in theory books.
