In 2018, the US space research agency NASA sent the InSight lander.

According to NASA scientists, there may be reservoirs of liquid water under the volcanic rocks of Mars. This huge amount of water is enough to fill an ocean, which would cover the entire surface of Mars. This information is known in the report of the news agency Reuters.

In 2018, the US space agency NASA sent the 'InSight' lander to collect various data on Mars. Earthquakes on Mars are recorded with the seismometer of this lander. These vibrations provide information about the motion of Mars and the existence of liquid water inside the surface during the last four years.

These reservoirs lie about 7.2 to 12.4 miles (11.5–20 km) below the Martian surface. This water helps create favorable conditions for sustaining microorganisms, past or present.

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) published a research paper on the matter last Monday (August 12). "The crust is warm enough at this depth," said lead author Vasan Wright, a planetary scientist at the University of California, San Francisco. So at this level the water will be liquid and at a slightly lower depth this water will be ice.
