Viewer Profile and Overall Site Experience
For my viewer profile, I’m aiming for a creative director similar to the one mentioned below:
Tom, 38, is a creative director for a graphic design firm based in Los Angeles specializing in creating unique online and digital experiences for their clients. These projects tend to be promotional material that’s part of a larger campaign. He’s been working in the industry for over 20 years watching technology evolve and just recently started his own company. After starting his career as a programmer, he decided that designing exciting user experiences was more up his alley. When not working crazy hours keeping the firm afloat, he’s usually walking his dog, going for hikes, and collecting the latest gadgets.
If Tom were to visit my website, the first thing I want him to see is my work. I want my best projects to be front and center for him to cycle through. He’s already working in a field that deals with websites and user experience, so it’s important that my portfolio site be clean and straight to the point. From the homepage, he can take a closer look into projects that intrigue him. Each project will be divided into their own categories based on what aspect of design it focuses on. He can then scroll through it quickly and read the brief descriptions if he needs clarification. If he like what he sees, there’s a contact page where he could read more about me and send a message.
