Hope & Resiliency in Delaware County
Even in small communities Law Enforcement Officers encounter the “dark heart of man” as they perform their duties. Most people fortunately never encounter the most harsh reality of evil, but it does exist. Cops and deputies can confirm it over the course of their career as they witness up close and personal what some people are capable of doing to others.
But do not give up Hope. We also have witnessed that in life’s darkest moments the light that shines the brightest emanates from those who care deeply for the hurting. Often because they have experienced hurt themselves they desire to reach out and offer a hand to the wounded; to share appropriately the empathy and sympathy of one who understands. The desire to simply stand alongside the hurting and let them know they are loved is a standard response from a caring community.
The hurting need not suffer alone, although some will choose not to share their pain for a host of reasons. And to understand that is to also show compassion. But resiliency will manifest itself as the pursuit of justice is carried out by professional, well trained, diligent law enforcement officers (your Guardians). Your neighbors (those who share your pain, families who stand beside you, teachers who work for all the right reasons and the faith based community) are there whether we acknowledge their presence or not.
Do not give up Hope. Do not succumb to cynicism. We are a strong people who rely on each other to have corporate success. Evil will not prevail, we will not let it. The Delaware County Sheriffs Office, made up of your neighbors, stands with this great community to provide our support.
