What Do You Want to Accomplish Before the End of the Year?
While everyone else is planning for the holidays you could be planning to accomplish a goal. The calendar is ticking down the days quickly and soon we will be facing the last two months of 2015. That is plenty of time to focus on tackling that thing you have burning in the back of your mind and heart.
Perhaps you need to start an exercise program? Do you need to lose weight? Is your home in need of decluttering? Have you been wanting to go back to school, but haven’t completed the enrollment process? Do you need to set up a better bill and payment system for your finances? Do you need to complete a business plan for the company you have always wanted to start?
Choose what you want to accomplish and commit to following through each and every day until the task is complete or at a minimum the final day of the year passes. In doing so you will get the result of having done what you wanted to do. What will that feel like?
If you don’t do it, what will you feel like?
This is a perfect time to choose to put a specific goal in front of you. It is also a perfect time to get a jump on putting yourself on a path to success for the New Year. While many others will be letting go and waiting until 2016 rolls in to focus on goals, you will have already started. That is the perfect way to set yourself up for success, because how many goals did you set at the start of this year that you completed?
Experts encourage goals to be set when there is an end in sight not a beginning, such as the last few days of the week rather than the beginning at the week, or at the end of the year versus the beginning. It keeps us from believing we can put off any part of the plan because we have time to pick it back up. Instead we see an end in sight and know we just need to keep at the task, to hang in there and commit.
So what do you want to accomplish in 60 plus days? What would make you feel fantastic to complete? What would set you up for success so that 2016 is the best year for you yet?
Pick your task or project and make a plan in detail on how you will start and the steps required to complete each part to the end of the year. Whether the task you pick will be finished by the end of the year, or it will give you time to complete the first phase, the point is that you will have started.
If you don’t plan on making the most of this opportunity, then realize you will be the same at the end of the year, you will have that same task on your mind and heart waiting to be completed.
Set yourself up for success, there’s not a better time to take on the challenge, and it’s your choice. If not now, when? Let it be now. Make it happen.
