I frequently avoid reading comments on my work when I feel I’m in a poor headspace to deal with mean-spirited or backhanded remarks. Unfortunately, that choice to step away from the comments also makes me a target for outraged people who feel that I am ungrateful, silly, weak, or whatnot.
