先日運用を始めたパブリケーション（https://medium.com/nsxpress/）に対して、この記事で推奨されていた Namecheap でカスタムドメイン（独自ドメイン／nsx.press という新し目の TLD のもの）を取得して、この記事（と送られてきたメール）のインストラクションに従って設定を行ったのですが、2日ほど経ちますが一向に反映されません。どうもいわゆる「DNS が浸透する（しない）」という話とも違う気がします。
さきほど、Namecheap のライブチャットサポートでやり取りをしたところ、以下の様な“調査結果”が返ってきました。

Thank you for providing me with the instructions of Medium.com. As per my check, the host records for the domain name have been properly configured on our end.
The domain itself is not resolving properly due to a SSL certificate issue, Shin.
In this case, you need to contact Medium.com in order to buy a SSL certificate or for any further assistance with resolving the domain name.
この記事中に SSL 云々ということはなにも書かれていないので少々驚いています。これが間違いないなら、ちょっと僕の手には負えない気がするのですが、ぜひご見解とご指示をお願いしたいと思っています。

から右上の「Summit a request」からも同様な質問とお願いをしています。
パブリケーション自体はとても素晴らしく楽しく使っていますので、カスタムドメインもなんとか使えるようにしていただきたいです。

【追記】その後、「Medium 独自ドメイン」あたりでググってみるも、こんなトラブルに見舞われている人は見かけないなぁ。皆さん、あっさり使えるようになっている模様。

また、あらためて送られてきたメールをよく見てみたところ、以下の様な記載を発見。

If you cannot find this DNS management area, we recommend contacting the company where you registered the domain to ask them where you can add CNAME and A records for your domain.
What to Modify
To set up a custom domain with Medium, you will be adding a CNAME and twelve A records, provided below. This information will enable your domain or subdomain to point to Medium servers with an SSL certificate which we will furnish at no cost to you.

う〜む、「Medium が用意したSSL証明書付きのサーバーにノーコストでポイントされる」ということだよね。Namecheap の担当者が間違っているということ？
ひょっとしたら DNS のところの単純な設定ミスだろうか。何度も確認してるんだけどなぁ。
