NEW YORK, NEW YORK — One very lucky top-prize winning ticket was sold for the July 14 TAKE 5 evening drawing.

The ticket was worth $37,131. It was purchased at The Check Cashing Place on Saint Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan.

According to lottery officials, “TAKE 5 players with midday and evening draws on the same ticket must check their numbers at nylottery.ny.gov to determine if they have the winning numbers for the corresponding midday or evening drawing. TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. The drawing is televised twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. A Lottery draw game prize of any amount may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Detectives from the Washington D.C. Metro Police are investigating an Armed Robbery that took place on yesterday morning in Southeast, D.C.. This incident happened on the 1400 block of Good Hope Road. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the suspect.

According to police, “At approximately 10:23 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money. The employee complied. The suspect then fled the scene.”

The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Third District Detectives at the D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating an unarmed bank robbery that happened on July 11th in Northwest D.C. This incident took place on the 1600 Block of 17th Street.

Detectives say, “At approximately 11:38 am, the suspect entered a bank located at the listed location. The suspect approached the tellers and demanded US currency. The tellers complied and the suspect fled the scene.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department has made an arrest in an armed robbery that took place on July 7th. This incident happened on the 4500 block of Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.

According to investigators, “At approximately 1:30 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property. The suspect fled the scene.”

26-year-old Jeff Porter of Northeast, D.C. was arrested on July 11th and charged with Armed Robbery.
