…….still she always cares for him!

Finishing up all the household chores she dressed up in her new saree, feeling delighted to meet her parents after so long.

Listen, we will buy those pink roses by the civil lines. Mum just loves them.” She uttered joyously.

Who is going civil lines?” He asked in weird surprise.

We…..” she answered. “Did you forgot your promise?” she asked worriedly wishing it to be false! “You had assured that this Sunday we will be going to my parents’ home.” she reminded him.

Ooh…..(laughing carelessly) Why you take things so seriously?

But…” she felt disheartened.

Oh please stop this ‘drama’! You know very well today my parents’ best friends are visiting home, and you are up with THIS!” he spoke harshly.

Yes I know and that is why I have made all the arrangements for them. Maa will have no problem”, she assured him. Such a benevolent heart! she calls his mother with the same respect and love as she carries for hers , unlike him who doesn't even bother about the well being of her parents.

NO. We are not going today.” he put his final statement. “And please go and inspect all the arrangements again. We will visit your home some other day.

He only said “this” but it was “THIS” to her!

And once again she swallowed her tears waiting for the day when she will finally meet her parents. A heartbreak for her, and a mere joke for him who always desire to be with his parents and wants his wife to look after them each moment.

He fails to notice the difference she makes. He cuts her out of discussions underestimating her. He mocks at her choices forgetting that he was also one of them.

When he talks down to her, as if she is somehow less than him, her spirit is bruised. Deeply.

After a long tiring office day pressing the doorbell, Naina scheduled the rest of her day in mind with an evening snack, some rest, preparation for dinner and then the completion of the telecom project presentation which was to be delivered tomorrow.

With a complete timetable in her mind, she stepped into the house. And the first thing was evening snack but it wasn't to have it but instead to prepare it.

Bahu sabke liye chai le aao aur thode samose bana do.” the respected mother-in-law said in a flow. “Aur shaam ke khaane ka bhi dekh lo. Aaj Sharma ji ko invite kia hai maine. Kofte aur naan bana dena.” she commanded. And with these words her time-table shattered.

Who cares to ask her for even a glass of water after an exhaustive day!

Who bothers to ask how was the day!

Who gives a damn that she had a fever last week!

NO ONE. Even not her husband who lovingly presents the “Best Wife” greeting card to her on every 14 Feb promising to love and care her forever. These words seem so graceful but then actions speak much louder than words.

He posts/says funny jokes about her, his family take her for granted and often ignore her in important decisions and plannings because they think her to be inefficient to handle these.

Loving him all her married life, she gets his full attention only when she is near to the end of Life, waiting to get his Certificate of her soulmate.

But no matter how he treats her….. she will always serve him food on time, she will always take care of his belongings and will always love him.
