I need terrible female engineers
Amy Nguyen

Thank you so much for this post. The standard that women who want to do anything have to be first and foremost attractive and feminine, and also just as competent and usually more to be successful is so corrosive. In general I would love to live in a world where women get to be valued in many different ways just like men are, and not always have to check every box of value simultaneously. I would love to live in a world where a woman who was unattractive, overweight, or socially awkward had as many opportunities to be valued as Danny Devito, Chris Christie, or Woody Allen.
