An uprooted tree
on a lonely platform.
One faulty fan among hundred others
on a busy one.

A slew of lights
like a camera pod,
looking at me
like a long exposure shot.

Lined with bushes and trees
ponds and swamps alike,
sparkling with
moon and stars bright.

Darkness for far
somewhere single spark of light.
An occasional whiff of unpleasant,
amidst cool breeze and shadowy night.

Chitter-chatter of kids
cacophony of snores.
Earful of
musical scores.

Crack of dawn
flight of birds.
Rustle of pages
and lush greens for ages.

Dew drops on window bars,
cup of tea on the sill.
That’s the stuff what
makes train journeys will.
