Thanks Melissa! I needed that today. Got handed a big part in a project idea I have been resolutely been standing by for years in terms of documenting data.

It finally got traction, but quickly ballooned into a much larger project.

I do feel a bit like Frodo. He saw the logic of destroying the ring, felt okay to carry it to the meeting to hand off to people he likely would have seemed to be in a better place to deal with all it entails, and instead got handed the whole project.

Much like Frodo I am not in charge of the implementation of each and every detail, but am now responsible for creating a lot more work (initially for myself and others to get the project underway), which should theoretically pay off with a result that would be favourable to all parties concerned.

Frodo just had to get the ring to Mount Doom and throw it in, but there were lots of obstacles in the way to getting there. Sounds simple at first but wasn’t.

I do, like Frodo, feel good in that the people who have something to gain will be part of the “fellowship” I am now part of because I know these people can be depended upon to help out providing the data.

Thanks again. Now I’m off to Mount Doom… after some lunch, or was it second breakfast and then…
