How many women are inventing the future?

Great article, especially raising the issue of ‘pipeline’. I was at a stellar EdTech event at GSVLabs, the nexus for EdTech startups, and saw a great startup, KIRAKIRA. They tap into girls’ artistic and creative drive to teach coding — brilliant. Another startup, immersed, taps leverages the learning that is inherent in computer game play — genius female founder.

Now Claire, let me split a hair. Use the phrase ‘supply chain’ rather than ‘pipeline’. Many decades ago Deming found that that key to improving manufacturing is to push the quality deep into the supply rather than the old ‘final inspection’ approach. We need more focus on development. We all need to encourage women and girls.
