Help Team Ross and Finn Raise Money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

This October, I’ll be running in the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. I’ll be running with Team Ross and Finn.

I love running. Running helps me find magic. I run to overcome jet lag, to recover from a stressful workweek. I run to see a new place. I run to feel good about the world. I run to be a better person, a better husband, and a better father.

I haven’t run a marathon in several years and I’m fairly certain things will get pretty interesting. But that’s not the point of this post.

My goal for this year’s marathon is to make my marathon comeback more meaningful. My goal is to run for two friends and raise $1000 for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

Meet Ross and Finn

Ross and Finn are two awe-inspiring Yukon boys with DMD and enormous hearts. These boys are funny. They curse like truckers. They love good food (especially Chinese fondue, cheese, and moose). They’re avid readers and great artists. And they have smiles that can melt the hardest of hearts.

DMD is a rapidly progressive form of muscular dystrophy that occurs primarily in boys. It is the most common fatal genetic disorder among children.

And to date, there is absolutely no cure. No cure.

It’s been an incredible honour to watch Ross and Finn grow and share some good times and awesome adventures with both of them, Michelle and Steve (AKA Stevie king of the river).

Just this summer, these boys did a road trip to Alaska for two weeks and slept in a tent the entire time.

I know a few perfectly healthy and mobile people that can’t even wrap their heads around the idea of sleeping in a tent. For Ross and Finn, that’s nothing. They love camping and traveling. They’ve traveled all over the world – Moroco, Egypt, France, England, Italy, Mexico just to name a few.

Make a donation by going to my personal page on the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy’s website, and help Team Ross and Finn raise $30,000 for DMD research.

No matter how small the contribution it will go a long way toward helping fund research so Ross and Finn and other boys with DMD can live long lives.

All funds raised will benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and go directly toward researching a cure. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible.

PS. 3Pikas (my company) will match donations up to a total of $1000. Check out the original post on the 3Pikas blog.

Thanks for your support! ☺
