Simulity Labs Ltd becomes a LoRa™ Alliance Adopter Member

Simulity have formally announced that they have joined the LoRa™ Alliance, an organisation aimed at standardising Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) to be deployed around the world to enable Internet of Things (IoT) and M2M industrial applications.
The LoRa Alliance is an open, non-profit association that has grown to more than 250 members since its inception in March 2015, becoming one of the largest and fastest growing alliances in the technology sector. Its members are closely collaborating and sharing their experience to promote the LoRaWAN™ protocol as the leading open global standard for secure, carrier-grade IoT LPWA connectivity. With the technical flexibility to address multiple IoT applications, both static and mobile, and a certification program to guarantee interoperability, the LoRaWAN™ is already being deployed by major mobile network operators and is anticipated to widely expand in 2016. The LoRa Alliance’s members come from organisations of all types around the world and Simulity are proud to be part of driving the implementation of the Internet of Things.
Based in the United Kingdom, Simulity is a software company specialising in embedded communications software and related server-based applications. As an Adopter Member, Simulity is able to engage with the LoRa Alliance Committees and help to drive the LoRaWAN standard. Simulity has large commitments to the telecom industry, they have been providing SIM card modules and OTA server platforms for a long time with huge success. They are focused on the delivery of eUICC solutions to the market.
Simulity satisfies its customers’ requirements and therefore the additional value proposition of the LoRaWAN technology is convincing major industries to deploy IoT applications and services that were previously improbable. “At Simulity, we are working to develop solutions that will enable every device to be connected, with no compromise on quality, security or privacy,’’ comments Stephane Fund, Founder and CEO at Simulity. ‘’With LoRa Alliance playing an increasingly prominent role across the IOT space we will be able to share industry knowledge and experiences in order to improve interoperability between telecommunication operators.”
‘’The LoRa Alliance is very pleased to welcome Simulity as a new member to the Alliance, we are growing very fast and each new member adds significant value to our increasing eco-system, providing solutions across the entire value chain to simplify IoT deployments at scale’’said Tracy Hopkins, Marketing Committee Chair of the LoRa Alliance.
The technology utilised in a LoRaWAN™ network is designed to connect low-cost, battery-operated sensors over long distances in harsh environments that were previously too challenging or cost prohibitive to connect. With its unique penetration capability, a LoRaWAN gateway deployed on a building or tower can connect to sensors more than 10 miles away or to water meters deployed underground or in basements. The LoRaWAN protocol offers unique and unequaled benefits in terms of bi-directionality, security, mobility and accurate localisation that are not addressed by other LPWAN technologies. These benefits will enable the diverse use cases and business models that will enable deployments of large scale LPWAN IoT networks globally.
