Actor James Woods Filing Lawsuit Against Anonymous Twitter User
After Woods tweeted a statement regarding Planned Parenthood, anonymous Twitter user Abe List (@abelisted) replied with an accusation of Woods being a “cocaine addict.” Woods is seeking over $10 million in damages over the single tweet. Currently, the owner of the account is claiming anonymity through his First Amendment rights, but this tactic is proving to be unsuccessful against Woods’s representation.
Private Data of 12,000 D.C. Students Accidentally Released
For several hours on Tuesday, the Individualized Education Program reports of 12,000 students with special needs were uploaded to a website visible to the public. Only one individual from the community downloaded the document and has agreed to delete via the request of the school district. An investigation has begun to find the individual who released this confidential information.
Man Falls Through Ceiling While Hiding from Law Enforcement
Kevin Swift had multiple arrest warrants due to crimes of theft of property and assault. When the Fugitive Apprehension Team came to Swift’s home, Pearl Davis refused to let the officers inside and only communicated with them through the door to say that Swift had left for work. Swift then fell through the ceiling above the officers, and both Davis and Swift were arrested.
