Lead Types: Straight news, immediate identification, delayed identification (blind)
Lead Sentence:
- 25–35 words
- Stands alone
- A strong clear statement that unifies the rest of the story
- Include who, what, when, and where
2nd Paragraph:
- Take an aspect of the lead and expand on it
Body of the Story:
- More details
- More facts
- Context
- Attribution: (telling audience where info comes from) direct quotes and indirect quotes. “Words,” name said.
