  • Cons: soley rely on it, time consuming, recording device can be distracting, people do not share as much, technology fails
  • VA Law: one-party consent

Note-taking

  • Always ask how to spell his or her name.
  • Job title (Ask for business card.)
  • Where the interview is taking place
  • Time

Ways to Interview

  • In Person: more probing questions, better understanding, more trust, gathering more information from being with a person
  • Email: written word, lacks non-verbals, context, insures accurate quotes, tell your audience it was in email form
  • Phone: second best to in person, still personal interaction
  • Social Media: verification, ask him or her to call
