The military fired $60 million of hardware into an improvised airbase in Syria in a single air strike.

A single F-35 costs $120 million to build and $35,000 to maintain per hour it’s in flight. The United States has 231 in service, meaning at least $28 billion has already been poured into the program.

You’ll forgive me if the cost argument leaves me incredulous.
