Let the people in!

If our current industrial capitalist economy is to survive, we must have net population growth. Republicans should want immigration to be as easy as possible; not the older ones ’cause we have already paid for them. Anyone who wants to continue the practice of the young and unborn paying for our current generation’s healthcare, welfare, and retirement funds; they need to vote for immigration reform to make it easier for everyone to live and work (pay taxes) in the States.

From David P. Goldman’s, How Civilizations Die (And Why Islam is Dying Too), pages 8–9.

On September 10, 2010, the Iranian president [Ahmadinejad] declared during a meeting with officials in Alborz province, “’Two children’ is a formula for the extinction of a nation, not the survival of a nation… The most recent data showing that there are only 18 children for every 10 Iranian couples should raise an alarm among the present generation… This is what is wrong with the West. Negative population growth will cause the extinction of our identity and culture. The fact that we have accepeted this places us on the wrong path. To want to consume more rather than having children is an act of genocide.”

Are you shitting me? I have to rethink the whole humanity-as-virus thing. If world population is declining, especially in countries such as Iran, maybe industrial capitalism can be propped up a few more decades. (Unless credit gets ruined by hackers.) Republicans (not all, just the current majority voting for Donald Trump) need to realize that we need immigrants because the States’ fertility rate is below replacement levels. Actually, if revolution doesn’t happen in my lifetime, I need Republicans to let immigrants work! Nobody is currently paying for my social security.

I just barely cracked the cover of Goldman’s book. I will have a lot to say about population decline in the coming articles. If you have read any of my past articles, you know that I have many varying opinions. My mind is blown daily, so it is very maleable. I hope yours is as well. We will figure this mess out. Please leave me any book/article/tweet that you think I could learn something from.
