I woke up the other day to the news that the closest thing I have to a home is now for sale. And while I always say I never had a home, and have removed myself so far from the life I had in that house, the news shocked me into sadness.

I am fond of saying the “world is my home”, and it is to a degree. As someone who travels the world over as a lifestyle, home is wherever I lay my head. But as a person who understands the nuanced expression as formative thought, I also understand the unique, nostalgic pain involved with this quote. Home is suddenly where I used to lay my head. But it’s not there anymore.
