Mind Of Millennials
Are you doing enough to capture the attention of millennials? You know the elusive group that is always staring at phones according to people who are not staring at phones. 80 Million Millennials make up the market today and that number is only growing. Millennials have embraced the digital space and it has become a unique advantage for them as consumers and us as marketers. So are they all them same? And how do you reach out to them? Do they engage differently?
Millennials, like any other generation have variations in the overall group. All the way from young professionals to Millennials who are getting married. These types need to be marketed to differently and possibly on different platforms. Consider this when planning out a strategy geared towards reaching Millennials.
The Brand Experience:
Millennials are sensitive to how they relate to a brand. This make the brand a personal experience for them. If the brand is over indulging in itself they might have a hard time breaking into the market. Focus on making a good impression and providing a personal experience. Most millennials stay engaged with these brands well past a purchase because of how important ‘identity’ is and its connection to them.
Video Rules All:

This should be no surprise given the environment they grew up in. Mobile video is the best way to be interactive and reach the millennial audience. Most of the content is quick and easy to digest. Consider short product demos and brand introductory videos as ways to keep them engaged and interested.
Finger On The Pulse:

Most Millennials have a Facebook page. However, they are also active across several other platforms. See if your brand is interested in Snapchat. This is a great way to engage with the Millennial demographic on an app they identify with. Make sure you are also on Instagram.
How you behave with social media is a great indicator as to who you audience is. If you are looking to target Millennials go to the apps they use and deliver content they are interested in. Understanding how each of these trends work and how they fit into your overall social branding will help you capture the Millennial demo. The landscape for marketing is always going to change and because of technology the change is going to happen faster and faster. Platforms will rise and fall and impressions will move from one source to another. Staying in front of these changes can have spectacular effects on your reach and messaging and who hears you.
