Slopes 2.5 is a big update, but in a lot of subtle ways that add up to something big. 2.5 is focused on making the experience of using Slopes better and easier. I hate using the phrase “it’s the best version yet!”, but I really feel that way. It’s a solid update that puts Slopes in a great place.

Lets dive in to what’s new!

Activity Search

I wish I could say I personally had this problem, but many of you have 100s of days in Slopes. When you’ve got that many, going back to find that epic trip to Whistler can be a pain filled with so much scrolling.

With version 2.5, you can now instantly search for any activity you’ve saved. Just enter the name of the resort and boom, you’re done. Search works for activities recorded in the backcountry, too; you can search by city, state, and country.

Improved Apple Health Integration

For a long time you’ve been able to save workouts and calories burned into Apple Health at the end of the day, but now Slopes can read from Apple Health, too. Head to the settings screen and you can ask Slopes to grab your weight automatically from Heath.

Polish, Polish, Polish

  • The colors for lifts and runs have been tweaked on the maps screen. They’re now the same in both terrain and satellite modes.
  • Speed improvements for resuming recording after you’ve paused for a longer break, like getting lunch.
  • Improved Slopes’s resilience at staying alive all day. In annoyingly rare cases, other apps using the GPS could shut down the GPS for Slopes. Slopes will now attempt to regain access to the GPS automatically in that case.
  • Slopes has been running at 99.5% crash-free users, and v2.5 just squashed the crashes accounting for 60% of the remaining reported. Lets see how high that crash-free number can go!

v2.5 is live in the App Store now, grab it before you head out to the mountain!
