In Korea there is an ancient legend about a warrior who died and went to heaven. On reaching heaven he asked the gatekeeper to first take him on a tour to hell. The gatekeeper found a guide to take the warrior on a tour to hell.

When he reached hell, he found a large table filled with the choicest of foods but the people in hell were still starving. The warrior turned towards the guide and raised his eyebrows. “It is this way you see”,the guide said.

“Everyone who comes here is given a pair of chopsticks five feet long and you must be holding them at the end to be able to eat with them. But you just can’t eat with chopsticks five feet long if you hold them at the end. Just look at them. They miss their mouths every time!” The warrior agreed that it was hell indeed and asked to be taken back to heaven at post haste.

When he reached heaven, to his surprise he found the same table with the very same food. But the people in heaven were happy, they were radiantly happy. The warrior said to the guide ,”No chopsticks here I suppose!”. The guide smiled and replied, “No ,they have the same chopsticks with the same length and you must be holding them at the end to be able to eat with them. But you see, the people here have learnt that if you feed your neighbour, your neighbour will feed you too!”
