New York, September 26. Social Alpha Foundation is honoured to support Blockchain Symposium — a seminar organised by the Consulate-General of The Netherlands and UNOPS (United Nations Office for Project Services)

SAF co-Founders Nydia Zhang and Jehan Chu joined on Panel Discussion for SDGs and Blockchain. The rest of the panellists included four representatives from the UN community — Salem Avan (Director, UN Office for Information and Communications Technology), Marco Baumann (UN Reform Advisor, UN Development Operations Coordination Office), Theresia Thylin(Humanitarian & Gender Specialist, UN Women) and Yoshi Yamamoto (Special Advisor for UN Engagement and Blockchain Technology, UNOPS). and Sophie Gu (ConsenSys)

SDGs and Blockchain Panel Discussion

During the panel, moderator Yoshi Yamamoto raised questions including: Future Blockchain initiatives/plans inside of UN organisation or department; Possibilities you see in blockchain, or limitations you see in blockchain, in the context of the effort to achieve SDGs. For Social Impact advocates, how would you rate the possibility of blockchain’s impact on the society among other innovative technology; View on the possible blockchain’s impact on financing SDGs?
