Drake sets record for American Music Award nominations

Drake continues his torrid run in music with a record-breaking 13 nominations at the 2016 American Music Awards. The Toronto MC beat out pop legend Michael Jackson, who previously held the record with 11 from 1984.

Drake holds nominations in categories like, Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album.

Rihanna is a close second with seven nominations. Adele and Justin Bieber picked up five nominations each, followed by four nods each for Beyoncé and The Chainsmokers. The show will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
