This meatless burger has the FDA’s Attention

Skeptics are wondering just what’s in the meatless burger made by Impossible Foods. That includes the FDA, which isn’t so sure that the key ingredient — an allergen known as soy leghemoglobin — is good to ingest.

Impossible Foods fought back against the 2015 FDA assertion, saying it “is substantially similar to proteins consumed daily by the global population.” Impossible Foods still plans to petition the FDA again.
